Interview Submission Process

Jokulsarlon, Iceland
(Michael McGraw 2010)

If you would like to be a featured artist on www.Local-Artist-Interviews.com, we have a process for submissions.  Copy and paste the information in a text document or email and submit all of the requested information to localartistinfo@gmail.com.

Requirements for submission:
1. Minnesota resident living and working in Minnesota. You must have adequate online evidence that you are a working artist.
2. Be a 2D/3D tangible artist.
3. Suggested: If you have a Facebook page, please "Like" the LAI site.  This helps with the networking component when having an interview featured on LAI.

Ideally, LAI would like to receive your interview1-2 weeks prior to your exhibit or event.  This way you can include a link to your interview/profile in your email blast or Facebook event.  Priority placement is given to artists who make a monitary contribution to the site. Contributions are voluntary but appreciated.  If you contribute to the site, I can make sure you interview is online within 3 days!

All content on LAI  is the property of www.local-artist-interviews.com and cannot be used without permission. You may link to the site or quote from the site as long as there is a link to the original post. Copyright 2010-2014.  All artwork on this site remains the property of the artist and used here with permission.  Local Artist Interviews reserves the right to use images on its site for other marketing and promotion.

Here are the standard interview questions for this process.  You may add up to 2 questions to guide the interview how you would like it to read, but you cannot delete any questions.

In addition to answering these questions, please attach 5-7 web-sized jpgs (800 pixels on the largest side) to include with the interview.  Please number them to correspond to the image list, " 1-revenge.jpg, 2-outsider.jpg, etc."

If you mention particular artists in your answers, please provide links to their websites.  It should look like this: One of my favorite photographers is Michael McGraw http://www.michaelmcgraw.info who is doing some very exciting things on metallic paper.  If you do not provide links, it is a missed opportunity to provide exposure to other artists.

Things that create extra work for LAI: Don't Do These Things!
  • Do not abbreviate the questions when you submit your responses.  Your interview will be returned for reformatting.
  • Do not embed your images in a text document.  All images must be sent as attachments.
  • Do not send me extremely large jpegs.  800 pixels x 800 pixels is the largest I'll accept.
With any interview posted, please be aware that I will also be posting images online of your art (crediting the artist), and using some of the images in links online to promote your article.  Submission of your interview gives express permission for LAI to use your images for promotion purposes.

Send your information in an email to (localartistinfo@gmail.com).  When composing your email, do not do hard returns in mid-paragraph. It is really hard to reformat when I post it to the website.

Your name and medium should be included in the subject line, along with the date of your exhibit opening, if applicable (Pablo Picasso - Painter - January 5, 2013).

Thanks for all of your time that you will put into your interviews.  Your work will strengthen the art community in Minnesota.

Please make a contribution in any amount through paypal by clicking the link on the right side of the page.

-Mike McGraw
